Gator Run 5K/10K Run/Walk
Registration for the 2nd Annual Gator Run is closed! Registrants received a commemorative pin. Entry fees included bib number, t-shirt, doorprizes and refreshments. In addition, each participant got one FREE ticket to the Cajun Creole Music Festival with the purchase of one regular admission ticket.
Great Route
The Gator Run will begin at the west entrance to the Rancho Santa Susana Community Park and head east on Los Angeles Ave. to Stearns St. Left turn on Stearns to Cochran, travel west on Cochran to Tapo St. Left on Tapo St. to Industrial, travel east to the end of Industrial where it meets the bike path. Runners will make a short loop on the bike path and head back to Los Angeles Ave., left on L.A. Ave and back to the start/finish. 5K is one loop, two loops for the 10K.

Register on-line at Active.com (click link). Registration is $25 for 5K or 10K until May 10th. Late registration is $30 after May 10th. Packet Pick Up will be available on Saturday, May 24th at Foot Pursuit Run Shop, located at 4324 Cochran Street in Simi Valley from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Proceeds
Proceeds from the Gator Run will benefit the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation and other local organizations. The mission of the Search Dog Foundation is to produce the most highly trained canine disaster search teams in the nation. The job of these teams is to find people buried alive in the wreckage of natural disasters and terrorist attacks.
To create these teams, SDF recruits rescued dogs from shelters and breed rescue groups, gives them professional training, and partners them with firefighters and other first responders at no cost to their departments. We ensure lifetime care for every dog in our program: once rescued, these dogs will never need to be rescued again.
SDF receives no government funding, and relies on our supporters throughout the country to provide these services.
